A tribute and cultural program was organized on the occasion of the 186th birth anniversary of J.N. Tata, the founder of the Tata Group and the founder of Jamshedpur city, at Netaji Subhas University. The program began with the garlanding of J.N. Tata’s portrait. Following this, various officials from the university’s administrative and academic faculties paid their respects by offering flowers on his portrait. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. P.K. Pani, in his address, said, “The city of Jamshedpur is a living example of J.N. Tata’s visionary foresight and his incredible ability to assess future potentials and opportunities. It has been more than 100 years since the establishment of Jamshedpur, but the city’s infrastructure and its adaptability to modern needs make it hard to believe that the city is over 100 years old. The ability to envision the future and conceptualize an entire city based on an assessment of conditions 100 years ahead shows the sharpness and brilliance of J.N. Tata. As it is said about great personalities that while their physical forms may perish, their ideas, contributions to society, and character-based ideals remain with us forever, J.N. Tata’s name is included in that list of great individuals. Today, on his 186th birth anniversary, we, the entire Netaji Subhas University family, pay our respects to him.”
In the next phase of the program, faculty members and students from various departments of the university paid floral tributes to J.N. Tata’s portrait, and students organized cultural activities.
The program was attended by Prof. Dr. Acharya Rishi Ranjan, Pro Vice Chancellor of Netaji Subhas University, Registrar Nagendra Singh, Academic Advisor Prof. Dilip Shom, Dean of the Administrative Department Prof. Nazim Khan, Controller of Examinations Prof. Mojib Ashraf, Dean of the IT Department Dr. Ranjan Mishra, Deans from various departments, Heads of various departments, faculty members, non-teaching and administrative staff, and a large number of students from the university.
