Faculty Development Program on Teaching Excellence at Netaji Subhas University
Netaji Subhas University organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme “Teaching Excellence: From Smart Classrooms to Data-Driven Research” from 16th to 23rd February 2026. The program was designed to strengthen teaching effectiveness, research skills, and the integration of modern technologies in higher education.
The FDP brought together distinguished academicians, researchers, and faculty members to share knowledge on innovative teaching methodologies, digital learning tools, data-driven research approaches, and modern classroom practices. The sessions aimed to empower educators with practical strategies that enhance academic excellence, research productivity, and student engagement.
The program was conducted at the Auditorium, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Block, Netaji Subhas University, from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM, providing a platform for collaborative learning and professional development.
Day 1: Responsible AI in Academia
The program began with an insightful session by Dr. M. A. Hassan, Associate Professor, on the topic “Responsible AI in Academia: Enhancing Teaching, Learning & Research with Integrity.”
The session emphasized the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in education, highlighting how AI tools can support teaching innovation, research development, and academic productivity while maintaining research integrity and academic honesty. The discussion encouraged faculty members to adopt AI responsibly in teaching and research activities.
Day 2: Transforming Data into Research Insights
On Day 2, Dr. Ratnesh Singh, Assistant Professor, delivered an engaging session on “From Raw Data to Research Insights: Intelligent SPSS Workflow, Visualization and Analysis.”
The session focused on converting raw research data into meaningful insights using SPSS statistical tools, structured workflows, and effective data visualization techniques. Participants gained valuable knowledge about improving research quality, data interpretation, and analytical accuracy in academic studies.
Day 3: Advanced SPSS Workflow and Research Analytics
Continuing the theme of research analytics, Day 3 featured another informative session by Dr. Ratnesh Singh, further exploring advanced SPSS workflows, statistical analysis techniques, and visualization methods.
The session helped participants develop deeper understanding of research data management, analytical methodologies, and evidence-based academic research practices, enabling them to enhance the quality and impact of their research work.
Day 4: Reimagining Teaching with Visual Media
On Day 4, Mr. Sumit Kumar, Assistant Professor, conducted an engaging session on “Reimagining Teaching with Visual Media: Smart Recording & Editing for Academic Excellence.”
The session highlighted how educators can enhance classroom teaching through digital media tools, smart recording techniques, and effective video editing strategies. Faculty members learned how to create interactive academic content, recorded lectures, and multimedia-based teaching materials to improve the overall learning experience.
The first four days of the Faculty Development Program at Netaji Subhas University successfully introduced faculty members to Artificial Intelligence in education, SPSS-based research analytics, digital teaching tools, and innovative classroom practices.
The program continues to promote professional development, collaborative learning, and research-driven teaching approaches, reinforcing the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation in higher education.
